  11. Well, this is the first public release of my tool CpuControl, a  replacement  of
  12. the  stock  CPU  command  with  somewhat  improved capabilities. The outstanding
  13. feature of this tool is the possibility to  'softkick'  any  KickStart®  version
  14. from  2.04 to 3.xx using some MMU-code (therefore a functionable MMU is required
  15. to  get  the  full  benefit  of  CpuControl).   Please   refer   to   the   file
  16. 'CpuControl.guide'  for more information about the other features and especially
  17. the note concerning the Copyright stuff when using the  softkicking  ability  of
  18. CpuControl.

  21.                                 IMPORTANT NOTE:

  23. I haven't had the time to spend much effort into the development  of  this  tool
  24. during the last few months. But I think that CpuControl might be useful for some
  25. among you, so I decided to release it in the present state. By now  the  program
  26. has  only  been tested on my configuration. Due to a general lack of time I have
  27. not yet performed any conscientious tests with  Enforcer,  Mungwall,  etc.  This
  28. will be done as soon as I have the time.

  30. The program seems to work fine on my configuration, but it may still  have  some
  31. more  or  less  serious  bugs.  The program itself is still in an early phase of
  32. development and requires extensive testing  and  lots  of  improvements.  So  if
  33. CpuControl  works  on  your machine or you discover a bug, please let me know (a
  34. description of your configuration would be most helpful).

  36. BUT BE AWARE: You are using the program at your very own  risk.  Don't  say  you
  37.               haven't  been  warned  !  I declare at this point that I cannot be
  38.               held responsible for any damage caused by the use of the  contents
  39.               of this distribution.

  42. By the way, the further development of this tool depends on the feedback  I  get
  43. from  YOU. So if you have any serious remarks about improvements etc., check the
  44. documentation for my address.
